Conceptualizes, plans, and manages four-seasons of Studio programing, including intensive courses, short workshops, and special programs for specific and underserved communities across The Studio. Manages the relationships and liaises with instructors to create the programing. Plans and publishes the twice annual offerings of courses. Manages The Studio’s website pages and serves as a power user, putting all information about courses, workshops, and related activities on the website. Leads The Studio’s social media identity, including identifying and directing content. Creates vision for and manages The Studio’s communications and takes the lead in developing external content and look and feel of materials, including newsletters, email announcements, web content, and other written materials.
The Programs Manager, The Studio is a full-time, onsite position, reporting to the Senior Programs Manager, The Studio.
Responsibilities (Essential functions denoted with *)
Programming
- Plans and delivers a diverse and world-class menu of classes that caters to key stakeholders, fills to capacity, and strategically makes use of all Studio spaces.
- Leads The Studio programming team by creating a vision for seasonal programing, managing the agenda, and preparing content for weekly programming meetings.
- Plans and delivers class templates for all seasons.
- Manages community programming that promotes a diverse and inclusive menu of classes for under-represented groups at The Studio and Museum.
- Researches new class ideas, develops new class offerings and manages the booking of instructors.
- Develops content that grows The Studio’s audiences.
- Coordinates, writes and publishes the catalogues for four seasons of classes.
- Conceptualizes and delivers vision for The Studio’s brand identity. Serves as the key point of contact with the MARCOM team with the goal of growing The Studio’s audience and impact of its brand.
- Leads The Studio’s social media identity, including identifying and directing content.
- Coordinates, oversees and writes content for The Studio including newsletters, email announcements, web content, blogs, and correspondence.
- Collaborates with Advancement Department on writing of grants.
- Expands connections to other teams across the organization and collaborates with key staff to realize these goals.
- Supports other Studio staff in the development of content and leads The Studio editing team.
- Manages programs for specific and underserved groups.
- Manages the relationship with Art Center Canvas (ACC) and manages and serves as the interface for the Museum’s Digital team and ACC staff.
- Actively supports the Museum’s Advancement initiatives and collaborates with the Advancement Team on fundraising.
- Establishes and maintains detailed SOPs for all key tasks.
- Works closely with key Studio staff to maximize facility usage across all areas and between all communities of users.
- Effectively manages and communicates with all relevant staff to ensure all receive timely and accurate information to perform their duties at the highest level.
- Helps foster and sustain an engaging, educational, supportive, and positive environment within The Studio and for the wider glass community.
- Leads or supports specific programs designed to grow the diversity of The Studio user community.
- Leads communication with renters at quarterly meetings; manages the agenda and tone of the meetings.
- Actively seeks opportunities to advance DEI&A initiatives through programming.
- Supports The Studio as it continually develops its DEI&A protocols and culture.
- Resolves customer service issues as required.
- Supports instructors as needed.
- Writes Studio-related blogs for website.
- Champions and leads high safety standards and adheres to all Museum safety protocols and training.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in glass, marketing or communications or related field required.
- Minimum three years’ relevant experience.
- Excellent computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite, MS Teams, and SharePoint; database experience required; knowledge of ACC, Mailchimp software or ability to learn required.
- Excellent writing skills, storytelling ability.
- Understanding of social media, communication and marketing skills, graphic design; ability to project studio brand and voice as set with Studio director.
- Organized, strong attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of glass artists; connection to glass community desired.
