
Are you a GAS member who is looking to take a leadership role in our organization? We are currently seeking nominations for board members for our 2026–2028 fiscal years! You can nominate yourself or someone in the community for the board via this form by March 16. The nominees for the board will be voted on in August and new board members will begin their term on October 1, 2025.
Board Member Requirements:
- GAS Board members must be GAS members in good standing
- GAS Board members come from all facets of glassmaking, represent a global glass community, and have expertise in different areas, including but not limited to nonprofit management, communications, and fundraising
Board Member Expectations:
Review the complete list of Board member responsibilities and expectations here; make sure you or the person you nominate for the Board is willing to take on these responsibilities before filling out the nomination form. Some responsibilities of GAS Board members include:
- Attending and participating in monthly Board meetings; Board members can not miss more than 3 meetings in a year
- Working on at least 2 board committees
- Working at the Annual Conference if in attendance; Board members must attend at least 2 out of 3 conferences during their three-year term
- Attending and participating in the Annual Board Retreat, which typically takes place in September
International Student Representative Nominations DUE March 16
We want to hear your voice! Apply for the International Student Representative Position – a vital spot on the Board of Directors. The Glass Art Society’s Student Representatives provide an opportunity for two students, one from North America and one from another part of the world, to serve on the Board of Directors and be directly involved in the organization, gaining experience, and guiding its future. Student Representatives serve as the primary champions of student projects and are liaisons between student members and the general membership of GAS.

- Collaborate with the noted artists, educators, and professionals on the GAS Board of Directors.
