Join our team as a Glassblowing Instructor!

We’re seeking enthusiastic instructors to lead interactive glassblowing sessions for guests of all ages. As well as contribute to some high quality, high volume craft production. This is your chance to work in a beautiful studio, share your craft with others, and be part of an incredible small team dedicated to inspiring both locals and visitors.

About Us

Every summer, we bring the art of glassblowing to life in the heart of the Adirondacks, offering locals and tourists an unforgettable hands-on experience. Our mission is to be a Town Attraction, providing free glass classes to local students, offering premium private experiences, and contributing to a vibrant local arts scene. We’re creating a space where glass artists can thrive and connect with nature. Beyond work, there’s adventure—hiking, canoeing, rafting, and more—right outside your door in the largest state park in the U.S.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Teach Hands-On Glassblowing: Lead guests through “make-your-own” sessions and live demonstrations.

  • Produce Glasswork Independently or with a Team: Be able to assist or lead production to match quality standards. Be self-motivated but also able to collaborate on events and projects.
  • Physical Demands: Stand, bend, and perform manual tasks for long periods, including all typical hot shop work and mobile hot shop work.

 What We’re Looking For

  • Glassblowing Proficiency: Strong glassblowing skills and the ability to teach and demonstrate techniques to beginners (1-2 years of teaching experience preferred).
  • Safety Conscious: Knowledge of glassblowing safety protocols and a commitment to maintaining a safe environment.
  • Passion for Teaching: Comfortable interacting with a diverse group of guests and excited to share your knowledge and creativity.
  • Physical Readiness: Ability to lift up to 55 lbs, stand for extended periods, and engage in physical work.
  • Background: While a degree in art or design can be helpful, it’s not required—experience working in the craft is preferred.

 Key Personality Traits

  • Friendly & Approachable: Warm, professional, and able to engage with people of all ages and backgrounds.
  • Self-Driven: Motivated, organized, and able to handle responsibilities with minimal supervision.

    • Adaptability: The ability to adjust actions or mindset in response to guidance or changing circumstances.
    • Commitment to Growth: A genuine desire to improve, learn new skills, and evolve in one’s personal or professional life.
    • Receptiveness to Change: Being willing to shift behaviors or strategies in pursuit of better outcomes.
    • Openness to Feedback: Willing to listen to others’ perspectives, even if it challenges current approaches.

 Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • Competitive Pay: $18–$25/hour + tips, with opportunities for bonuses.
  • Reasonable seasonal housing.
  • Creative Community: Work alongside other passionate artists in a beautiful & inspiring studio.
  • Adventure Awaits: Enjoy outdoor activities like hiking, biking, and rafting in the Adirondack Mountains when you’re not at the studio.
