Resort Glass, located at a charming resort just outside Yosemite National Park in California, is seeking a talented and adventurous glassblower to join our team. We are looking for someone with exceptional people skills, a passion for teaching, and the expertise to guide guests through unforgettable “make-your-own” glassblowing experiences.

This role focuses on sharing the magic of glass artistry with guests of all ages and backgrounds. From first-time creators to families seeking unique memories, you will inspire and assist our visitors in crafting their own works of art.

While the studio is just outside the park, the spirit of Yosemite is all around you. With towering peaks, ancient forests, and endless opportunities for adventure just a short drive away, this position blends creativity with the excitement of life near one of the world’s most iconic wildernesses. Our team thrives on artistry and a shared passion for exploration, making every day a celebration of craft and the natural world.

● 30-40 hours per week

● 4 day work week

● $25/ hour plus tips teaching

● Blow time available

Qualifications

Essential Functions/Key Responsibilities

● Proficient in glassblowing techniques, with experience leading “make-your-own” sessions or similar hands-on teaching experiences.

● Maintain a clean and organized studio space, ensuring safety and functionality for both staff and guests.

● Capable of working independently and in teaching roles, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.

● Able to adapt to various physical demands, including standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in diverse weather conditions.

● Strong interpersonal skills to engage guests from diverse backgrounds and abilities, creating an inclusive and memorable experience.

Competencies/Required Skills and Abilities

● Education in art, design, or a related field is preferred; extensive glassblowing experience is essential.

● Certification in First Aid (or willingness to obtain).

● Strong knowledge of glassblowing safety protocols and best practices.

● Exceptional communication and group leadership skills.

● 1-2 years of teaching or public demonstration experience is preferred.

● Knowledge of the Yosemite area and Sierra Nevada region is a plus but not required.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

● The physical environment requires the employee to work in a covered outdoor setting in varying weather conditions (hot, cold, wet, and dry).

● Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, twisting, and reaching.

● Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
