Why Texas?

At GAS, we understand that everyone brings their own perspectives and political views. As an organization, we are guided by our mission, vision, and values. Our mission is to encourage excellence, advance education, promote the development and appreciation of the glass arts, and support the worldwide community of artists who work with glass.

When selecting locations for our annual conference, we seek communities that are committed to providing a safe and inclusive environment, have supportive organizations, and share our vision of uniting the global glass community to celebrate and learn about this material we all love.

Supporting this global community means showing up to support the people and places that define our community, no matter where they are. It is about showing up to the spaces where we learn, organize, and build meaningful connections. We are especially proud to support our GAS community members in the Arlington-Fort Worth area who are working tirelessly to create vibrant, inclusive spaces in a politically turbulent place. Their efforts remind us of the power of art to inspire, connect, and foster understanding.
