Starworks Glass Residency & Internship Program

Starworks Glass Studio in Star, North Carolina offers dynamic opportunities for emerging and professional glass artists through Internship and Residency Programs. Applications for 2025 are due September 30, 2024.

The internship is ideal for students and early-career artists with foundational glass experience seeking professional, hands-on training. Over a three-month period, interns assist with studio operations, teach workshops, present demonstrations, and contribute to Starworks’ product line, all while engaging with a vibrant community of visiting and resident artists.

The Resident Artist program is open to glass artists and those from other mediums interested in exploring glass. Artists receive resources to develop new work or expand their practice. While an MFA is recommended, it is not required. Residency periods vary and offer a unique chance for artistic growth in a supportive environment.

What to expect:

  • An $800 monthly stipend + low-cost housing
  • 10 hours of personal glassblowing time a week
  • Hands-on hot shop training & gaffer assistance
  • Field trips to museums, galleries, and studios
  • 24/7 access to the studio, including a personal workspace
