Where can I find local contacts in a new city or while traveling?

GAS Members as another one of the many benefits of membership are listed in and receive an annual Directory & Resource Guide. The Directory section is like a phone book with contact information listed by country and state. In the back of the Directory is a list of schools offering glass classes. The schools listed are small studios to large universities with Undergraduate and Graduate Programs. This publication is updated annually and mailed to members in August.

You can also visit the Artists and Designers page of the gas website, and scroll to the area that you are planning to visit.

Where can I find studios, schools or universities that offer glass related study?

There are several places to look for schools/studios that offer glass classes/programs.

Check out schools with web sites from the GAS Schools page (links are organized by country and state)

Check Classes and Workshops in the GASnews, bi-monthly newsletter mailed to GAS members six times per year.

Current members are mailed in August of each year a Directory & Resource Guide. The Directory section is like a phone book with contact information listed by country and state. In the back of the Directory is a list of schools offering glass classes. The schools listed are small studios to large universities with undergraduate and graduate programs.

Current GAS members may purchase a custom mailing list of schools. We have categorized schools on the GAS database as studio, summer, undergraduate and graduate. A mailing list can include telephone, fax, emails and web site information. We can give current members up to 10 contacts at no charge.

Where can I find an artist who will do commissioned work? (Like corporate gifts, lampshades, presents, etc.)

One great resource is to surf through "Artists" links from the Member Links section of the Glass Art Society web site. The artists listed are current GAS members but the site is open to the public. Happy surfing!
